546 students now in summer school

Some 546 students from kindergarten to high school reported for summer school Monday, representing about 21% of the entire student body of the Taylor County School District.

“We said we wanted to serve the bottom percentile of our students (25%), and we’re pretty close,” Director of Instruction Sharon Hathcock said. “A very good start.”
