Carswell Ernest Walker Jr.

Carswell Ernest Walker Jr., 81, passed away on June 9, 2021, at his residence in Perry.

Carswell was born on Dec. 12, 1939, in Douglas, Ga., to Carswell Ernest Walker Sr. and Clessie Davis Walker.

He honorably served his country in the United States Army, and was a Baptist.

Carswell was the owner/operator of Walkers Food-Mart for more than 32 years, and he was an avid Gator fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carswell Ernest Walker Sr. and Clessie Davis Walker, and his brother, Billy Walker.

Carswell is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Naomi Walker; his son, Ernie Walker and his wife, Betsy; two daughters, Kim and her husband, Jerry Livingston, and Tammy and her husband, J.R. Polley; his brother, Lester Walker; his sisters,  Erma Lewis and Genelle Mounce; and eight grandchildren, Kolby, Kameron, Kailee, Becky, Timothy, Hannah, Daniel and Mary Helen; plus a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 12, at 10 a.m. at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home with the Rev. Justin Webb officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 9-9:45 a.m.
