Mr. Alvin “Kenny” Crews, 62, of Perry, passed away on May 27, 2021, in Macon, Ga., following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Kenny was born Jan. 14, 1959, in Perry to James Curtis Crews Sr. and Genevive Davis Crews.
He was a graduate of Taylor County High School, where he played both football and baseball.
Kenny was a Baptist and enjoyed fishing, golfing and watching sports.
He worked in construction most of his adult life, most recently as a construction manager with the E Group.
Kenny will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband and father, a hard worker who liked to joke around, and someone who always put others before himself.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, James and Genevive Crews Sr.; one brother, Roy Crews; and two sisters, Gayle Sharp and Debbie Crews.
Kenny is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Marilyn Crews; one son, Aaron Kenneth Crews of Orlando; one brother, James Curtis Crews Jr. of Jacksonville; and two sisters, Rosie Hollis of Thompson, Ga., and Dell Crews of Perry; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. Interment followed in Pineview Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Burns Funeral Home.
