County split 3-2 on Gas Plant Rd. funding source

The Taylor County Commission has agreed to earmark $100,000 in local paving funds toward the widening and resurfacing of Gas Plant Road in the hope that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will provide the remaining $350,000 needed to complete the project.

While the entire commission was in agreement with a suggestion from County Engineer Kenneth Dudley to provide the local funds as an enticement to secure the additional money from FDOT, the board was split in a 3-2 vote on exactly which fund to pull from to help pay for the project.
