Grandfather ‘serious’ after crash, grandson sustained minor injuries

A man driving a stolen vehicle and “actively fleeing” Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers was killed when he crashed head-on with a Penske moving truck o n U.S. Highway 19 north of Perry on Sunday.

Approximately three miles of the northbound lanes of U.S. Hwy. 19 were shut down for more than three hours Sunday evening as FHP conducted an on-scene investigation that continued after dark.
