Suncoast toll road now officially dead

The proposed Suncoast Connector extension toll road project, which many expected to pass through Taylor County, is officially dead after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill (SB) 100 into law last Thursday, June 24.

SB 100, which passed the Florida Senate 39-1 and the Florida House 115-0, repeals the entire Multi- Use Corridors of Regional Economic Significance (M-CORES) program, including the proposed Suncoast Parkway extension, which would have run from Citrus County northward to I-10.
