One of the consequences of watching as many movies as I do is that you tend to forget a lot of them, even some of the ones you liked.
With the recent release of “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard,” the sequel to the 2017 action comedy starring Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson and Salma Hayek, I realized I couldn’t remember much, if anything, from the original movie.
I actually had to go back and read my review of the first movie to see if I liked it or not. It turned out I did, despite a number of technical issues, thanks to the chemistry between Reynolds and Jackson.
Sadly, I can’t say the same about the sequel. Many of the jokes that worked well enough the first time around are run so far into the ground this time that it sapped away much of the enjoyment.
