Saturday afternoon crash

The driver of this overturned SUV was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way to an oncoming vehicle Saturday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. Highway 19 and Ash Street.

The two-vehicle wreck happened around 5:30 p.m. and no life-threatening injuries were reported. The SUV had turned into the median on U.S. 19 and was crossing to Ash Street when the crash happened. The resulting impact left the SUV on its side in the grassy area in front of Doctors’ Memorial Hospital Medical Plaza.
