Upcoming local football standouts Tucker Dodimead and Nickigel Freeman stood out when they traveled north to Boston, Massachussets last weekend to participate in the Beantown All-Star Classic.
Dodimead played center and defensive tackle for the 10U white squad, while Freeman played on the 14U red squad.
Freeman’s team played a 7v7 game Saturday during which he proved to be absolutely untouchable, using his speed and elusiveness to torch the opposing defense.
On Sunday, Freeman showed why he is one of the top up-and-coming 9th grade football stars, drawing gasps from the crowd for making a few bone-jarring hits on defense and breaking free for a 65-yard touchdown run.
Dodimead had a perfect weekend snapping the ball and blocked extremely well in the middle against several stout defensive linemen, as well as registering seven tackles from his defensive position.
The 10U white squad lost a close battle on Saturday 8-6 before rebounding on Sunday with a resounding 24-6 victory.
Dodimead has one last All-Star event this summer in Sarasota on July 17, as he plays in the Gridiron Kings game.
Freeman finished his youth football career with another fantastic performance, which those following his career have become accustomed to.
