Win a deep sea fishing charter!

Reel Epic Charters has donated a guided one-day deep sea fishing charter to be raffled by Taylor County Habitat for Humanity, Executive Director Karol Newport Barr announced.

The drawing is to be held Monday, July 26. Tickets are $10 each (or three for $25) and may be purchased at the Habitat office, 1409 South Jefferson Street, from any board member or online through Paypal.

Members of the board who may be contacted for tickets include: Patricia Meyerin, Doris Putnal, Lindsey Vaughn or Taylor Brenner.

The winner will be announced next week.

Barr said this is another fundraiser planned by the local Habitat organization with the goal of completing a build in Steinhatchee.

“Building supplies have skyrocketed, and what we thought was enough for the build is no longer the case,” she said.

Habitat is dedicated to providing affordable, sustainable housing for those who cannot afford traditional mortgage costs.

The group also provides assistance for local residents who have no funds or family to help pay for needed repairs to doors, windows or exterior conditions.

“We have requests from many local folks right now that we don’t have the funds to assist,” Barr noted.
