City taxpayers could see a 4.43% increase in their property tax bills if the city council officially adopts the proposed millage rate tentatively approved at a Tuesday, July 13 meeting during final budget public hearings in September.
Despite the proposed tax increase – which is estimated to raise an estimated $86,000 in additional tax revenues – the city still faces a $1.1 million operating deficit.
