Caught in the act, thief wrecks during high-speed chase

A man caught red-handed stealing car parts from a residence on North Jefferson Street led police on a high-speed chase Thursday night, July 15, that ended with him rolling his truck into a ditch and becoming trapped in the wreckage.

Officers on scene pulled the suspect, Eric Monk, 26, of Perry, from the vehicle before he was transported to Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) for treatment of minor injuries.
