County seeking grant to build third softball field

The Taylor County Commission is considering applying for a $200,000 state grant to help fund the construction of a third softball field at the Taylor County Sports Complex.

The commission voted unanimously at its Tuesday, July 20, meeting to schedule two public hearings next month to solicit feedback about the grant application. The hearings will be held at the commission’s Aug. 2 and Aug. 17 regular meetings.
