Schools get $1 million more in property taxes

A meteoric rise in property values here recently will translate into nearly $1 million in additional tax revenue for the Taylor County School District this coming budget year.

Director of Finance Ashley Valentine shared the news with school board members Tuesday as she reviewed the district’s projected $43 million proposed budget for 2021- 22.
