Gladys Fitts Lincoln Burt

Mrs. Gladys Fitts Lincoln Burt, age 95, died Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at her home on Lay Lake in Shelby, Ala.

A native of West Blocton, Ala., she was the daughter of August and E’lois Fitts. Mrs. Burt was predeceased by her parents; her husbands, Homer M. Lincoln and Vincent Burt; and her brother, James Robert “Bud” Fitts.

Survivors include: three sons, Benjamin Wayne Lincoln (Tina) and Randall Bruce Lincoln, both of Lay Lake and Donald D. Lincoln (Susan) of Perry, Fla.; six grandchildren, Katie Lincoln King of Perry, Fla., Megan Elizabeth Lincoln of Hoover, Ala., Will Lincoln of Hayden, Ala., Jonathan Lincoln of Perry, Fla., Clinton Lincoln and Derek Lincoln of Bowling Green, Ky.

Mrs. Burt was a homemaker, extraordinary cook and wonderful grandmother. She was a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church at Lay Lake where she sang in the choir and helped with other church activities.

She and her first husband, Homer, lived for many years in Vestavia Hills where they were active in school, sports and church events with their three sons.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 24, at 11 a.m., at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 345 Bethlehem Church Road, Shelby, Ala.

Pastor Rodger Hammaker will officiate.
