    Posted on July 30, 2021

While the City of Perry saw an increase in its “crime index” last year, crime statistics overall were down in the unincorporated areas of Taylor County, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s (FDLE) 2020 Annual Uniform Crime Report.

The annual crime report, which is released by the FDLE each year in June, indicates the Perry Police Department (PPD) saw a 15.4 percent increase in the seven main “index” crimes, while the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) saw a nine percent decrease in the same crime categories when compared to the 2019-20 year.
