Deep-water offshore reef coming to Taylor

The Gulf waters off Taylor County could one day be home to a new deep-water artificial reef, after county officials agreed to partner with Anderson Columbia Co., Inc., on the project.

According to the agreement, which was approved by the county commission earlier this month, the company will cover all of the costs associated with permitting and construction of the reef, which will be located approximately 60 miles offshore of Taylor County in 90 feet of water.
