Council to buy one half of downtown city block

Anticipating the need for additional space in the future, the city council has authorized City Manager Taylor Brown to enter into a contract to purchase nearly half of a downtown city block for $175,000.

The council gave Brown permission to negotiate the purchase of property located across the street from the Perry Police Department (PPD) earlier this year.
