Hampton suggests city hire grant writer

City Councilwoman Shirlie Hampton is suggesting the City of Perry consider employing the services of a grant writer, stating she feels the city is missing out on opportunities to receive state and federal grants.

“I just want to make sure we are taking advantage of everything we can,” Hampton said at the city’s July 13 meeting, pointing to more than $60 million in grants awarded to cities and counties around the state announced by Governor Ron DeSantis during a recent visit to Taylor County.
