    Jerry Lamar Fletcher

    Jerry Lamar Fletcher, 75, of Cherry Lake died on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021, at his home from pancreatic cancer.

    He was born June 6, 1946, in Quitman, Ga., to Tommie Ann Wadrep and Joe Howard Fletcher of Greenville.

    He was a lifetime resident of Florida (Madison) and attended Greenville High School class of 1964. From high school he went to wok with Buckeye Cellulose of Perry, where he began working on the railroad tracks hooking and unhooking train cars.

    Through the years he worked himself up through the ranks and retired from Buckeye, the one and only job he ever had outside of working on his family farm. 

    He was also a member of the Army Reserves in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

    Jerry was a devoted husband, father, and papa.

    He was married to his wife, Vicki Lynn Fletcher, for the past 31 years. There were five children, Lori Lacy (Clay), Jason Fletcher (Leslie), Billy Comstock (Barbra), Kelly Washington and Timmy Comstock.

    He had 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 

    He is survived by one sister, Betty (Ron) Hamilton; one sister-in-love, Emogene Fletcher; and one, brother-in-love, Larry (Donna) Townsend, all of the Cherry Lake community. 

    He was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, W.H. Fletcher; and one sister, Barbara Ann Fletcher Townsend, all the Cherry Lake community. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Kelly Washington of Pinetta, and two grandsons, Ethan Lamar Anglin and Gene Russell.

    He was an active member of Concord Baptist Church and loved to spend time with his family.

    He could always be seen checking his cows, having his 8 a.m. coffee club meeting or baling hay.

    He loved the Lord and his family, and has left behind a true legacy. 

    Graveside services will be held Sunday, Aug. 15, at 4 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church in Madison.

    In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Covenant Hospice in Tallahassee.
