Residents who are still attempting to clean up and dry out from historic flooding along the Steinhatchee River and high water in many areas of southern Taylor County are now bracing for yet another major rain-producing weather system. (Please see related story above.)
According to forecasters with the National Hurricane Center (NHC), Tropical Storm Fred (currently downgraded to a tropical depression) is expected to make landfall along the Florida Panhandle sometime Sunday or Monday, bringing heavy rains and winds of up to 60 mph.
