16 students, 5 staff positive at schools

The Taylor County School District has reported that five staff members and 16 students have tested positive for COVID-19, while an additional 69 people have been quarantined as “close contacts,” affecting nearly every school in the district.

According to the school district’s COVID website, quarantined students and staff may have been exposed to COVID-19 in the community, at home or at a school site.
