During their regular meeting Tuesday, the Taylor County School Board filled two new truancy officer positions, hiring retired longtime Taylor County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Ed Whiddon and former corrections officer Brandi Barber.
“When students improve their attendance rates, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating. These employees will report directly to Director of Personnel Kiki Puhl or the principal of each school,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Danny Glover Jr. said.
