11% of district students out Wednesday due to COVID

Approximately 328 students across the Taylor County School District missed school Wednesday due to either testing positive or being exposed to COVID-19 less than three weeks into the new school year.  

The data released by the school district shows that 11 percent of the 2839 students across five campuses were absent on Wednesday, Aug. 25, as some 100 students had tested positive and the remaining 228 were in quarantine due to exposure.
