Habitat for Humanity hosts yard sale this Saturday

    Posted on September 1, 2021

Taylor County Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Karol Newport Barr has announced that a yard sale, featuring vintage crystal, silver and china dinnerware, furniture and all sorts of household items, will be held this Saturday, Sept. 4, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at their 1409 South Jefferson Street location.

“We have some really nice antique items that have been donated and are hoping to find new homes for them,” Barr said.

The yard sale is one of many fundraisers the local non-profit is holding in their efforts to complete a home build in Steinhatchee.

“At this time, we only have enough money to get the home dried in,” she said.

Construction on the exterior is slated to begin next week.

“After that we will be trying to find the money for materials to finish the interior,” she said.

Another fundraiser is slated at the grand opening hosted by Moss and Magnolia, a new business located at the Old Depot, on Saturday, Sept. 11.

Owners Dean and Heather Schwarz are Habitat volunteers and will be raffling off gift baskets, as well as conducting a 50/50 drawing.
