Schools to close Sept. 2-3

Faced with a staffing crisis – as nearly 25% of staff members at the primary school were out Monday – the Taylor County School District is hitting the “reset button” on the new school year.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Danny Glover Jr. announced Monday that schools will be closed Thursday and Friday “as a preventative measure,” in order to allow teachers to reassess their curriculum and come up with a plan of how to best handle at-home instruction for students who must quarantine due to COVID.
