COVID numbers explode

Due to a massive increase in COVID-19 cases reported over the past week – averaging nearly 60 new cases every day — Taylor County now has the second-highest “population-adjusted” rate of new cases in the nation.

The Florida Department of Health’s (DOH) latest weekly report showed 401 actual new COVID-19 cases in Taylor County during the seven-day period ending Thursday, Aug. 27, more than double the 182 positive cases reported the week before.
