A fiery electrical surge halted traffic at the intersection of U.S. Highway 19 and Ash Street and resulted in the loss of power to some 1,500 Duke Energy customers Tuesday afternoon.
Motorists and Chevron customers witnessed a ball of blue flame traveling up and down the main power lines on both sides of U.S. Highway 19, as a power surge danced from transformer to transformer in the vicinity of the Ash Street intersection, just prior to 5 p.m.
