Sheriff Padgett: ‘Jail not a luxury resort’

“If the conditions at the jail are not to your liking, don’t commit crimes and don’t come back.”

That was Taylor County Sheriff Wayne Padgett’s message to incarcerated inmates and their loved ones after several complaints were voiced to local media outlets regarding alleged “irresponsible” handling of a coronavirus outbreak.
