The Taylor County Commission is seeking a $367,900 grant to conduct a feasibility study that would determine the viability of constructing transportation bypasses to combat congestion in the areas of the Keaton Beach and Steinhatchee boat ramps.
The bypasses are one of three projects the county has designated to be funded by a projected $12.6 million allocation of “Pot 3” RESTORE Act funds. The RESTORE Act funding comes from penalties, fines and fees assessed following the 2020 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, which will be paid out over 15 years.
