Twice-convicted felon Stephen Alford – who served federal prison time for his attempt to execute a $500 million land swap that would have turned a portion of 548,000 acres of Taylor County timberland into an Air Force bombing range – has been arrested once again.
On Aug. 31, the self-described land speculator and Fort Walton Beach businessman was indicted on federal charges stemming from his alleged role to extort $25 million from former Florida state Senator Don Gaetz and his son U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz.
