A family pet that evidently slipped its collar and wandered from its yard was shot and killed by a local police officer after biting her as she was trying to make contact with its owner.
The incident began when Perry Police Department (PPD) Ptl. Madison Campell, who was working a funeral escort near Burns Funeral Home, observed a German Shepherd – which was not wearing a collar – walking back and forth in the roadway near East Ash Street on Saturday, Aug. 28.
