Andy was 67 years old. He was born on June 17, 1954, to Andrew L. (Buck) McLeod and Loretta Tucker Bailey McLeod in Illinois, but was raised in Perry from the age of three.
He always called Perry his home.
Andy honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He retired from the Air Force after serving tours in Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Germany and Souther Korea, as well as Nevada, Utah, Florida, Texas and many other places.
After retiring from the Air Force, he returned to Perry and was employed as the director of public works for the county, where his second retirement came after another 20 years.
Andy loved people – he never met a stranger (just like his dad). He was an avid sportsman and especially loved hunting in the mountains of Utah.
He played football in high school and baseball in the Air Force and in Perry when he returned home. He loved God, his family and FSU football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Loretta McLeod.
Andy is survived by: his loving wife, Teresa Spradley McLeod of Franklin, N.C.; his son, AJ (Laci) McLeod of Texas; and stepchildren, Rhiannon, Anna and Adam
He is also survived by his sisters, Susie (Jerry) Durden of DeLand, Debbie (Dennis) Poppell of Perry and Patti McLeod of Daytona Beach, as well as a host grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and loving friends.
A celebration of life service with military honors will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 5 p.m. at New Home Baptist Church in Perry.
Everyone is welcome and face masks are encouraged.
