84, passed away on Sept. 4, 2021, in Gainesville.
He was born May 22, 1937, in Day to Albert Allen Johnson Sr. and Marie Brock Johnson.
He honorably served his ountry in the United States Army Reserves. Mr. Johnson was a Baptist and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where he is fondly remembered as the “Iceman.”
Albert worked as a lab technician with Procter & Gamble/Buckeye, retiring after 34 years.
After retirement, he enjoyed fishing in local creeks, rivers and in the Gulf for his favorite fish, mullet. Albert was a member of the Perry Masonic Lodge #123 for more than 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cpt. and Marie Johnson Sr., and his sister, Betty Stephens.
Mr. Johnson is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Eleanor Hunter Johnson; his son, Bert (Susan) Johnson and his daughter, Wendy Johnson; his sister, Faye (Curtis) Baxter; and three grandchildren, Aaron Johnson, Katie Johnson and Slade Hendry; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today (Friday) at 2 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brother Johnny Campbell officiating. Visitation for friends will be held prior to the service, from 1:30-2 p.m., at the funeral home.
