Anna Oleen Towles

Anna Oleen Towles, 71, passed away on Sept. 10, 2021, in Tallahassee. She was born Jan. 9, 1950, in Lexington, N.C., to Johnny Alfred Smith and Imogene Yvonne Freeman Smith. Anna was a Baptist. She worked with Buckeye for more than 33 years as an accounting clerk. Anna was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and past Queen of Daughters of the Nile. She loved reading, camping and freshwater fishing, but, most of all, she loved helping people. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Alfred Smith and Imogene Yvonne Freeman Smith, and her sister, Frances Brinson. She is survived by: her husband of 39 years, Audie Towles; her stepchildren that she loved and treated as her own, two sons, Michael and his wife, Stephanie Towles, Reed and his wife, Sheree Towles, and daughter, Audra and her husband, Dave Gorby; three sisters, Helen Riehl, Susan and her husband, David Tassanari, and Elaine and her husband, Dennis Green; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter;as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
