Dannie Dale Cochran, 73, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at his home in Perry. He was born in Perry on June 28, 1948, to his parents, Lucy Lee (Poppell) and Joe William Cochran. Except for military service, he lived his entire life in Taylor County. He followed the Christian faith throughout his life and served his country as a soldier in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, which included a year-long tour in South Korea. Afterward, he returned home and over the years worked in auto mechanics and as a lineman for Tri-County Electric before retiring as a correctional officer for the State of Florida. In healthier years, he loved hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and working to improve his home for family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lucy. He is survived by: his wife of 21 years, Arlene Cochran; his sister, Connie (Joe) Parker; brother, Sandy, two children, Stacy Cochran and Ross (Sue) Cochran; and seven grandchildren, Jordan Lyle, Trey Lyle, Brittany Faircloth, Destany Johnson, Sydney Ray, Lane and Kelton Cochran; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Pisgah Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 10:30 a.m. officiated by Brother Billy Gipson, with a gathering afterward for family and friends.
