The Republicans of Taylor County will meet Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. at Swann Venue, located at 200 Washington Street (across from the Historical Society).

    Dinner will be served.

Clerk of Court Gary Knowles will be the special guest speaker.

Knowles is a lifelong resident of Taylor County and was elected to office in 2020. He began working in the Taylor County Clerk’s office in 1993.

He started in the finance department and has since performed essentially every service provided by the clerk’s office. His most recent position before being elected clerk was senior deputy clerk.

He is a member of the Florida Association of Court Clerks and Comptrollers and Florida Clerks of Court Operations Corporation (CCOC).

He performs the clerk’s duties for the entire court system, which includes: circuit criminal, circuit civil (foreclosures, real estate cases, malpractice, negligence, contracts, etc.), family law (divorces, adoptions, child custody, etc.), traffic and criminal traffic, county criminal (misdemeanor), county civil (small claims, landlord/tenant cases, etc.), and juvenile court.

He also serves as clerk and comptroller to the Board of County Commissioners, preparing and overseeing a budget of more than $46,000,000 per year.

“Our top priority is to provide the citizens of Taylor County with the highest quality of honest, professional and courteous service that you deserve. The clerk’s office doors are always open to assist the public with any issue, and everyone who visits this office will continue to receive the same professional service,” Knowles said.
