A furious fourth-quarter comeback attempt by Taylor County came up just one play short, as undefeated Class 5A Wakulla escaped with a 20-14 victory over the Bulldogs Friday night in Perry.
Wakulla scored a single touchdown in each of the first, second and third quarters to build a 20-0 lead, but the Bulldog defense shut down the War Eagles in the second half – holding Wakulla’s vaunted offense to just 44 total yards in the final two quarters and forcing three second-half turnovers.
