Man arrested after threatening neighbors with sword, crossbow

A Perry man armed with a sword and a crossbow was arrested last weekend after threatening to kill his neighbors and accusing them of stealing an AC window unit from his home.

John Roland Whiddon, 68, faces charges of aggravated assault (with intent to commit a felony) and armed trespassing. He is being held on a $10,000 bond at the Taylor County Jail.
