    Thais Ann (Hall) Whittle

    Mrs. Thais Ann (Hall) Whittle, a 64-year resident of Perry, passed away peacefully at her home in Perry on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, after an extended illness. She was 87.Thais was born on Jan. 31, 1934, in Cypress, Fla., to Joseph Drew Hall and Mellie Louella (Jones) Hall. She graduated from Blountstown High School in 1952, where she played basketball.Thais worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C., as a clerical typist before she returned to Florida and worked in Tallahassee.She married Quentin O. Whittle on Dec. 30, 1956, and moved to Perry, where she worked at Triangle as a secretary.Thais took a break to raise her three children before returning to the work force at the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles in Tallahassee as a clerical typist. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Thais was very intelligent, wise and always patient, kind and loving. She had a positive attitude and never complained. Thais had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed singing in her church choir. Her great sense of humor was often on display, as she loved to tell a good joke or riddle. Thais smiled and laughed often. She made people feel better about themselves and was a joy to be around.Her love for family, friends, travel, the outdoors, good food and long walks were very evident. In retirement, Thais traveled the United States extensively with her husband, Quentin, in their fifth-wheel camper. They visited all lower 48 states and Alaska. She loved visiting with her family, friends and relatives. Thais was a hard worker, outstanding typist and superb speller. She enjoyed her morning coffee and playing Canasta. Everyone always enjoyed being around her. Thais was a faithful Christian and truly lived a Christian life. The world is a little darker now that she is no longer with us, but heaven is a much brighter place. Thais was an angel on earth and is now an angel in heaven. She will be truly missed by all. Thias was preceded in death by: her husband of 47 years, former Florida Highway Patrol State Trooper and Taylor County Sheriff, Quentin O. Whittle; her sister, Freida Lewis; and brother, Donald Hall.Thais is survived by: her brother, David Hall; three children, Mark Whittle and wife, Debi, Donna Gorman and husband, Jerry, and Ron Whittle and wife, Christie; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Whittle, Amy Jackson (Tee Jackson), Ryan and Zachary Whittle (Kate Whittle), Emily Noel (Steve Noel), Claire Padgett (Shane Padgett), Mark Ensley and Allison, Andy, Aaron and Austin Whittle; and six great-grandchildren, Bryce and Tucker Jackson, Rico and Jojo Whittle and Lorelai and Noah Padgett.A visitation will be conducted at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 9:30-11 a.m.Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. A graveside service at the Boyd New Life United Methodist Church will be held after the funeral service, followed by refreshments in the church hall for family and out-of-town visitors. The Rev.
