County debates garbage pick-up

The Taylor County Commission has granted approval to a fourth company to collect and transport household garbage from residences outside the City of Perry limits – but not before placing an additional requirement on its owner.

At the commission’s Monday, Oct. 4, meeting, the commission voted 4-1 to approve a permit for Charles Swindle of C&L Removal Services, but only after Swindle agreed to transition his business plan within six months to deliver trash directly to the Aucilla Area Solid Waste landfill in Madison instead of local roll-off sites. The commission also agreed to waive the bond requirement in the permit.
