Fatal collision

A 67-year-old Perry woman was killed when she was struck by a semi-tractor trailer near the intersection of U.S. Highway 19 and Beach Road after walking into the roadway for “unknown reasons.”

Multiple agencies rushed to the scene at approximately 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, closing the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 19 and detouring motorists to Red Padgett Road for several hours.
