The Taylor County Historical Society is offering a real “treat” for residents Halloween weekend – a Tombstone Trek at Perry’s Woodlawn Cemetery.
The walking tour is planned Saturday, Oct. 30, starting at 10 a.m. Tickets are $10 each and are available at Rain’s Train Stop Flower Shop and Moss & Magnolia. Both businesses are located in the historic Old Depot on Ellis Street.
During the walking tour, participants will visit the final resting places of: W.T. Cash, Florida’s first state librarian; founding father Joseph H. Sappington; World War II soldier Robert Lee Faulkner; and R.R. Raulerson, the town marshal murdered on Main Street.
“This is not a ghost tour, but rather will focus on telling the stories of the lives of those who made our city,” President Angela M. Castelucci said. “The tour group will visit their final resting places and honor their memory with the telling of their story.”
All proceeds benefit the historical society.
