LC Buckhalter, 92, of Perry passed away Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021.
LC was born Dec. 20, 1930, in Dixie County. He was raised, lived and died in Perry.
He was an intelligent man who prided himself in serving his community. He loved automobiles and was an avid reader. At the age of 17, he worked maintenance on the railroad before discovering his passion for automotive bodywork.
He opened Buck’s Paint Shop in 1976, which he ran with his son, Sonny Buckhalter.
He worked as a firefighter with the City of Perry Fire Department, serving as assistant fire chief until his retirement in December 1992. LC leaves behind his sons, Lane “Bubba” Buckhalter and Charles Buckhalter; daughters, Wendy Fields, Johnnie Ann Jolley and Dallas Brown; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
