    Morris speaks Oct. 25

    Posted on October 22, 2021

On Monday, Oct. 25, the Friends of the Taylor County Public Library will present a live “Zoom” program featuring Southern fiction author Michael Morris.

Morris is a fifth-generation native of Perry who now lives in Fairhope, Ala.

His first novel, “A Place Called Wiregrass” won the Christy Award for “Best First Novel.”

Michael’s second novel, “Slow Way Home” is a page turner, which Anne Rivers Siddons has stated is “a novel for the heart.”

In 2004, Morris authored a novella based on the Grammy-nominated song by Tim McGraw, “Live Like You Were Dying.”

Pat Conroy praised Morris’ latest novel, “Man in the Blue Moon,” as “a beautifully wrought portrayal of small-town Southern life where poverty, tragedy and human love engage in a ritualistic dance.”

Copies of Morris’ books are available for check-out from the Taylor County Public Library or may be purchased locally from The Book Mart.

Monday’s Zoom program will begin at 5:30 p.m.

This video conference will be hosted by Mark Viola. You are invited to join the Zoom Meeting at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81467158713. The meeting ID is 814 6715 8713.
