Barbara Anne Jackson, 81, passed away on Oct. 18, 2021, in Tallahassee. She was born Dec. 20, 1939, in West Palm Beach to Delmar Jackson and Annie Marie Howell Jackson. Barbara was of the Catholic faith and attended St. James Episcopal Church in Perry. She worked as deputy director with the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation for more than 20 years. Barbara loved the outdoors, traveling, spending time with her horses in Phoenix, Ariz., and dearly loved her dog, Andrew Jackson, who was deceased at the age of 19. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar Jackson and Annie Marie Howell. Barbara is survived by: her sister, Ella Jane Freeman; her niece, Vallerie Freeman; her nephew, Mark and wife, Kelli Taylor; and her only surviving aunt, Betty Hoyt. A celebration of life service was held on Sunday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church with Father Kent Thompson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Taylor County Animal Shelter. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
