Edgar Rayford “Ray” Morgan

Edgar Rayford “Ray” Morgan, 73, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, Oc.t 20, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family. Ray worked with the Perry Police Department where he retired as a sergeant after 25 years of service to his community. He preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by: his former spouse, Alice, (they remained good friends); three dogs, Kato, Pruddy Girl and Dot Dot, aka Big Nose Kate; three children, Wendy (John) Ward, Steve (Summer) Morgan and Jackie (Randy) Hearne; four brothers; six grandchildren; 12 greatgreat-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service is planned Saturday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m., at Salem Baptist Church. All arrangements are under the direction of Beggs Funeral Home of Perry.
