Move over Troy Landry – there are some new Swamp People in town! Walt McGuire and his son, Shawn, harvested (with state-drawn tags) a record 13-foot, 10-inch alligator – five inches short of the state record. The men would only say the alligator was caught “in Taylor County.”
L&W Venison Custom Meats in Madison processed the 829-pound alligator, “the largest we’ve ever handled,” employees said. The entire alligator will be utilized — as the hunters are keeping the head and hide, and the meat is being processed.
