Rep. Southerland: D.C. is a place where truth is relative

U.S. Rep. Steve Southerland spoke to the Perry Rotary Club this week, discussing Washington, D.C., and its political divides, not in the usual terms of Republicans versus Democrats, but those who believe in “absolute truth” versus those he called “relativists.”

He began his talk by saying he was thankful that Taylor County remained in his district following last year’s state redistricting efforts, calling the county a “home base of sorts” when he visits the eastern portion of his district.
