Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine approved for children 5-11

    Posted on November 10, 2021

Although U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11, the new lower-dose vaccine is not currently available in Taylor County.

The Pfizer vaccine for children 5-11 is administered as a two-dose primary series, three weeks apart, but is a lower dose (10 micrograms) than that used for individuals 12 years of age and older (30 micrograms).
